For sale, an early Falcon Miniature Camera from the 1930s. Candid type camera with original box and 8 sided, fold out instruction booklet. Made by the Utility Manufacturing Company, New York The camera body is made of Bakelite, measuring 5" long x 3" tall. Condition: Please refer to photos, wear from age. Instruction booklet has an old stain. The box shows wear along the edges. The camera is missing the viewfinder, just an empty space. The two metal clips that hold the backside on have minor surface rust. History: The Utility Manufacturing Company was founded in New York in 1934, and offered several camera lines, including folding cameras and box cameras. Its main camera brand was Falcon. In 1941 Utility was bought by Spartus Corp., and moved to Chicago, Illinois, where the name Falcon continued. The body style (with horizontal ribbing) was a clear design inspiration for the Lomographic Sprocket Rocket camera launched in 2010. Sold as is, as a collectible. Excellent for display.
